We Install Water Filtration Systems

Why Invest in a Water Filtration System?

Water is a fundamental part of our daily lives, whether it’s for drinking, cooking, cleaning, or operating machinery in an industrial setting. However, the quality of water can vary greatly depending on the source, and we’ve found that many homes and businesses in the Atlanta area face issues with hard water, contaminants, or unpleasant tastes and odors. This is where a water filtration system comes into play.

Investing in a water filtration system ensures that the water you use is clean, safe, and free from harmful substances. Whether you’re a homeowner looking to improve the quality of your drinking water, a business owner needing to ensure the water used in your operations is pure, or a facility manager in charge of an industrial site, a water filtration system is essential for your peace of mind and the efficiency of your operations.

Check Out Our Projects

This comprehensive water filtration and treatment system was a fun installation project.

The system features Aquasana tanks used for various filtration stages, including sediment removal and carbon filtration. Below the tanks are filter housings that remove larger particles. We connected PVC piping to it with shutoff valves valves for easy maintenance.

We installed a UV sterilizer, encased in stainless steel, designed to kill bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms, ensuring the water is microbiologically safe. We also put in shutoff valves valves for easy maintenance.

We installed a whole-house water filtration system, featuring two tanks connected with PVC pipes and stainless steel flexible piping for water filtration and softening.

The setup includes a SpringWell filter housing which remove particulates or chemicals from the water and shutoff valves for easy maintenance.

All water entering the home is effectively filtered and treated to address issues like hard water, chlorine, and sediment.

Types of Water Filtration Systems

There are various types of water filtration systems available, each designed to address specific water quality issues. Since we see that customers who typically want a new water filtration system often have questions requiring details, we decided to break down the most common types:

  1. Whole-House Water Filtration Systems:

    • Residential: These systems are installed at the point where water enters your home, ensuring that every tap, shower, and appliance uses filtered water. They are particularly useful in areas with hard water or high levels of chlorine, as they protect your plumbing system and improve the taste and smell of your water.

    • Commercial/Industrial: In commercial and industrial settings, whole-building filtration systems ensure that all water used within the facility is free from contaminants. This is crucial in industries where water quality impacts product safety or machinery efficiency.

  2. Under-Sink Water Filters:

    • Residential: Under-sink filters are installed directly under your kitchen sink, providing clean, filtered water at a single point. These are ideal for homeowners who want to improve the quality of their drinking and cooking water without filtering the water used throughout the entire house.

    • Commercial: In commercial settings, such as restaurants or cafes, we install under-sink filters that ensure that the water used for food preparation and beverages is of the highest quality.

  3. Reverse Osmosis Systems:

    • Residential: Reverse osmosis (RO) systems are highly effective at removing a wide range of contaminants, including lead, chlorine, fluoride, and more. We often installed them right under the sink and include a storage tank for filtered water.

    • Commercial/Industrial: RO systems are widely used in industries where high-purity water is essential, such as in pharmaceuticals or electronics manufacturing. These systems can be scaled up to meet the demands of large facilities.

  4. UV Water Purification Systems:

    • Residential: UV systems use ultraviolet light to kill bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms in your water. This is an excellent option for homeowners concerned about biological contaminants in their water supply.

    • Commercial/Industrial: UV systems are commonly used in industries like healthcare and food processing, where water sterilization is critical to maintaining safety standards.

  5. Water Softeners:

    • Residential: Water softeners address the issue of hard water, which can cause scale buildup in pipes and appliances, leading to inefficiency and damage over time. Softened water is gentler on your skin, clothes, and plumbing system.

    • Commercial/Industrial: In commercial and industrial settings, water softeners are crucial for maintaining the efficiency of machinery and preventing costly repairs due to scale buildup.

Common Questions About Water Filtration Systems

1. How Do I Know If I Need a Water Filtration System?

If you’ve noticed issues like bad-tasting water, visible sediment, or water that smells like chlorine, it’s a good indication that you could benefit from a water filtration system. Water in many parts of North Metro Atlanta tends to be moderately hard. Hard water is typically classified as water that contains a high concentration of minerals, primarily calcium and magnesium. According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), water in our Atlanta area has a hardness level that can range from 60 to 120 mg/L (milligrams per liter), which is considered moderately hard. This can lead to issues such as scale buildup in pipes and appliances, dry skin, and dull hair. Given these facts, installing a filtration system can be a wise choice.

2. How Do Water Filtration Systems Work?

Water filtration systems work by passing water through various types of filters, each designed to remove specific impurities. For example, carbon filters are effective at removing chlorine and organic compounds, while RO systems use a semi-permeable membrane to remove dissolved solids and contaminants.

3. Are Water Filtration Systems Expensive to Maintain?

The cost of maintaining a water filtration system varies depending on the type of system and the quality of your water. Most systems require periodic filter replacements, which can range from every few months to every few years. Overall, the maintenance costs are relatively low and maintenance is simple, especially when compared to the potential costs of plumbing repairs or health issues caused by poor water quality.

4. Can a Water Filtration System Improve My Home’s Water Pressure?

In some cases, a well-maintained water filtration system can help improve water pressure by preventing scale buildup and other issues that can restrict water flow. However, if you’re experiencing low water pressure, it’s important to diagnose the root cause, as it could be related to other plumbing issues.

5. What’s the Difference Between Water Filtration and Water Purification?

Water filtration generally refers to the removal of impurities like sediment, chlorine, and organic matter from water. Water purification, on the other hand, involves removing a broader range of contaminants, including bacteria, viruses, and dissolved solids. Systems like RO and UV purification are considered purification methods.

6. Can a Water Filtration System Help with Hard Water?

Yes, a water softener is a type of filtration system specifically designed to address hard water. It works by removing the calcium and magnesium ions that cause water hardness, replacing them with sodium or potassium ions.
